Restoration and management of plant communities in <i>Applied Vegetation Science</i>

In 2021, global environmental challenges were at the forefront of our minds. Having finished first year UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, we are witnessing predicted effects anthropogenic climate change around world. Applied ecological research is more important than ever to develop appropriate management solutions wide range challenges. this editorial, take a look key issues and topics interest in Vegetation Science (AVS) over last five years. Our brief analysis complements updates information major from 1998 2016 an earlier editorial (Chytrý et al., 2017) parallel published simultanously for Journal (Pillar 2022). We examined 389 articles AVS since excluding Editorials. extracted terms titles, abstracts author addresses. performed network using VOSviewer tool v.1.6.17 (van Eck & Waltman, 2010). The most frequent countries affiliation collaborations based co-authorship shown Figure 1a. red cluster indicates strong collaboration between Eastern Central European countries, including also some Northwestern such as Netherlands. green includes networks North America, Western Europe. Germany, largest contributor country journal, lies middle these two clusters.
